This course is suitable for beginners but is also a great follow up for students who have already attended one of our shorter courses.
The course will begin with students learning the basic leather skills (or refreshing your memory of them) by firstly learning and practicing how to hand stitch leather. You will learn marking out, choosing appropriate leather, hand saddle stitching and raw edge finishing.
Following this everyone will make one small unlined saddle bag each. You will work from a prepared pattern so everyone’s bags will be the same size and shape, however you can choose from our leather to have your own bespoke colour combinations and make small alterations such as changing the strap, stitch colour, etc. so your finished bag will be unique to you.
Course runs from 9.30am – 5pm with a break for lunch and tea and cake breaks throughout the day. Light buffet lunch and tea and coffee included in the price. The price includes the cost of all leather and fittings used to make your bag.
The workshop is not suitable for wheelchairs.
